I had to find my desktop’s CPU speed in order to send this information to one of CIT person in the organization. Windows2000 does not tell you even in the System Properties dialog.
Here’s VB code to find cpu speed reading registry.

for each ocpu in getobject(“winmgmts:root\cimv2″).instancesof(“win32_processor”)
wscript.echo “Current clock speed : ” & ocpu.currentclockspeed & ” Mhz”

And then alternative way to find it is as follows:
1. Start -> Run
2. Type “dxdiag” and hit Enter
