It’s a static method, not an instance method. I didn’t realized it until today.
So the way it should be used is as follows:
var bd:BitmapData = BitmapData.loadBitmap(linkageid);
Although the sample of loadBitmap method shows in the reference, there is no mentioning about a static method.
I just thought that what if we have the standard of graphic file names. For example, for a comapny website, the company logo’s graphic file name be “company-logo.gif” or “company-logo.jpg” on xhtml page. This will provide search engine or other applications with a way to identify what’s what.
It’s just one of thoughts that came cross all of sudden.
